Pompano Perspectives is a personal transparency project. It publishes public records, City Commission meeting videos, and commissioner reports so any resident can see the same documents and information I receive in my official role.
The goal is simple: government records belong to the public, and they should be easy to find.
I do — Audrey Fesik, in my individual capacity. I built and maintain this site personally (in my free time).
No. Pompano Perspectives is not affiliated with the City of Pompano Beach, the City Commission, or any city department. It is not hosted on city servers, not paid for with city funds, and not produced using city staff time.
For official city business, please visit pompanobeachfl.gov
No. Pompano Perspectives does not accept contributions, does not solicit votes, and is not coordinated with any campaign committee.
The official campaign site is Audrey4Pompano.com, maintained separately.
I do, personally. No public funds, no city staff time, no city email, no city devices, and no contract resources are used to produce or maintain Pompano Perspectives.
The site is hosted on Google Sites, which is free.
No. Pompano Perspectives accepts no contributions of any kind. If you would like to support my re-election campaign, that is handled separately at Audrey4Pompano.com
The site is maintained personally. Residents are welcome to share public records they have obtained on their own, and I may post material that adds to the public conversation — with source attribution.
Every record posted here was obtained through the standard public-records process under Chapter 119, Florida Statutes — the same process available to any Florida resident.
Nothing on this site comes from privileged access, closed sessions, or attorney-client communications. If a document is posted here, it is a public record that you could request yourself.
Every posted record includes source attribution: where it came from, when it was requested, and when it was received. Original file names and metadata are preserved wherever possible.
If you ever doubt a record's authenticity, you can request the same document yourself directly from the City Clerk's office. The How to Request a Record page walks you through the process.
Yes. The point of a transparency project is the record itself, not the commentary. When I post a document or video, my goal is to make the source material available so residents can draw their own conclusions.
Yes — these are public records. Residents are encouraged to review, share, and discuss the information so our community can make decisions based on facts.
All documents, emails, videos, and files shared on Pompano Perspectives are official public records obtained through lawful requests under Florida’s broad Public Records and Sunshine laws. These materials are already part of the public domain and are legally accessible to every resident.
Because they were created in public facilities, through government processes, or by public officials, there is no expectation of privacy in their content. While individuals may appear in meeting videos or security footage, these files are released by the City as public record and may be shared openly.
Many documents are shared as PDF files. You’ll need a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download) or the built-in PDF viewer on most computers, tablets, and phones.
Some of these records are hundreds of pages long, so the files can be large. If the preview doesn’t load in Google Drive, click the download button (the downward arrow in the top right corner) to save the file and open it directly in your PDF reader.
Some public records are provided in a proprietary format that requires the Genetec Video Player software. Unfortunately, this program is not very Mac-friendly and may not always run smoothly on Apple devices.
If you’re using Windows, you can usually download and install the Genetec Video Player (included in the video folder or available from the vendor’s site). Once installed, you should be able to open and view the footage.
The Genetec player does not run natively on macOS. Some residents use alternatives like:
Borrowing a Windows PC for playback
Running Windows on a Mac through Boot Camp, Parallels, or another virtual machine
Requesting that the City provide a viewable format, since public records should be reasonably accessible to all residents
Yes. Public records law requires that documents and media be provided in a usable form. If you’re unable to view a Genetec video on your device, you can ask the City Clerk’s Office to provide the video in a standard format (such as MP4) or to arrange viewing at City Hall.
Yes. If you have public records you believe other residents should see, you can email them, and I will consider posting them with appropriate context and attribution.
You can request anonymity if you prefer.
How to share your files:
📧 Email your documents directly to pompanoperspectives@gmail.com, or
📝 Upload them through our Pompano Perspectives FOIA Submission Form.
When you share:
Please include the date of your request and the City/agency that provided the response.
Be sure to remove or redact any personal information (like home addresses, phone numbers, or signatures) before sending.
Once reviewed for compliance, your files may be added to the shared library so every resident has access.
Note: Only official public records responses should be submitted. This page is not for personal correspondence or confidential information.
Pompano Perspectives is not a public-records portal — the City Clerk's office handles official requests.
But I built the How to Request a Record page specifically to walk you through the process, with a sample request you can copy and edit.
For official city business — service issues, code concerns, district questions, anything requiring a commissioner response — please email me at Audrey.fesik@copbfl.com. That is the channel of record for constituent matters.
This site is not a substitute for the city's official communication channels.
Yes. For questions specifically about Pompano Perspectives — feedback, broken links, suggested records, factual corrections — you can reach me through the contact form on the site.
Email me with the specific record, page, or claim you believe is incorrect, and the source supporting the correction. I will review and update or annotate as appropriate. Corrections are part of how a transparency project earns trust.
The Pompano Perspectives Podcast is a personal podcast hosted by me. Some episodes may predate my time on the Commission; current episodes discuss local government, public records, and civic engagement in Pompano Beach.
No. The podcast is produced personally and independently. No city funds, staff time, or equipment are used.
Recent episodes are linked from the Podcasts page on this site. (You'll note that there haven't been many, as I've been busy with work instead).
No. Florida law requires the city to respond to public-records requests. It does not require any individual official to publish records publicly. Pompano Perspectives is something I do voluntarily because I believe residents should have easier access to the information that shapes their community.
No. Every record posted here is already a public record — meaning it is, by law, available to any resident who requests it. Publishing what is already public is not a conflict; it's the point of public-records law.
No. Anything I post here, including my own commentary, reflects my personal views and my work as one elected commissioner among five. It does not represent official city policy or the position of the City Commission as a whole.
Pompano Perspectives is a personal transparency project maintained by Audrey Fesik in her individual capacity. No public funds, city staff time, or contract resources are used to produce it. This site is not a campaign site and accepts no contributions.
